Here is the brief report abut the ACSS manufacturing
1 - first step : buying all components. Fortunately I found a web site where I can buy online screws, nuts, tapped rods, ... (all stainless steel ) Springs supplied by Rabourdin.
For aluminium rods, it's much more complicated ... sometime I find the rod in a shop, sometime on ebay, depending of availability
2 - cutting the aluminium components. I use my wood machine with a specific blade to cut aluminium parts
then I make a little champfer on the L bracket.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First component : aluminium nipple
3 - First champfer on the aluminium nipple, with a mini-lathe
4 - Drilling the D4.2 hole across the nipple with a drilling / miling machine. I use a steel mounting to drill through the axis
5 - Back to the lathe to drill the D5 axial hole and make the second champfer
6 - Manual tapping M6 (one of the longest operation !)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Second component : aluminium bracket
7 - Drilling a D8 hole
8 - Then milling of the oblong hole with a D9 mill
9 - Drilling of the D3.3 holes for M4 tapping
Then tapping the holes
and mounting the screws
10 - Sanding the bracket to fillet the corners.
11- Final assembly. The rod is glued to the nipple
A batch ready for shipping .....

les pièces ACSS sont-elles livrées avec un plan d'installation. genre à quelle hauteur sur la chaussure ont fait les 2 trous. quoi faire comme modification préalable sur la chaussure avant de mettre l'ACSS. bref un bon mode d'emploi.

Re: [report] ACSS Manufacturing
WOW!
This is pretty awesome to see how the ACSS is actually made. I've already done the necessary modifications to my boots, all I have left is to drill the holes to mount the angle brackets.
@Arnaud
Thank you for shipping out the ACSS kit. Hopefully they'll make a fast trip across the Atlantic to the US!!!
