After long years of fighting with the files, diamond stones, clamp and all those crappy planes, i have ran across the ultimate tool.. Its called the "tuning plane" and the company that makes it is a small swiss company named tool tonic :http://www.tooltonic.com.
Its a bit pricey ( around 60 euros/$) but is HUGE when it comes to tuning quickly a board that has no big damages. I now use it everyday on the slopes, in the lift even... you can do the edges in 5 mins with a razor finish!
Seems many team managers are using it now for competitions getting it out of the pocket in a sec for the great results...
