Cool :P

You should deinterlace the raw video before you compress it though.
Then you will get better quality in the compressed video.

Is Scuol particularly good for carving?

if the video is cool we'll host it here on our server ( slower than yours but at least it is free !!).
Let us look at it first, can't seem to download ! I must confess that we will host by priority those vids with swoard's extremecarver board ;)...

Nice work, guys!

Just out of curiousity, what kind of board was being ridden in reverse during the first part of the movie? I like riding switch now and then, so I chose a board with a relatively tall tail, but I've been wondering lately if that was really necessary.

Riding Fakie in the first part of the movie

Post by carversau » Wednesday 5 March 2003, 7:55

Hey NateW...
Phil, the rider who carves fakie was riding the #one from Pureboarding. This board has a small (1 cm) Tail. Sure, it's better if you have a tall tail, but its not realy necessary. It just makes it easier ...

But in the second part of the movie, Phil is riding another board ... This was ääähhh ... An Oxbow from the Pro-Rider Zangerl ...

I tried to compress your movie but something is wrong with the format...
try to reencode it deinterlaced as the video is not that good in quality...
then i will be able to reincode it to quicktime etc... since the video is not much longer than extremedreamer, it shouldn"t be bigger in size ( it is more than double now)

then we will see if we can host it....;)
by the way: nice backsides ! and great filming from the chairlifts and also from the slopes in motion !!!!! must have taken a lot of time setting it up!!

I created a new WMV-File ... it's now half the size and quality should be ok ...
Check it out and I hope, it's ok for you now ...

Thanks

Question to Chris

Post by linus » Friday 7 March 2003, 1:10

First of all, NICE work man....the video looks great....

I was wondering about your setup....you looked like
using stiffer angles.....and canting with shallow stance width

if I'm wrong (maybe it's my illusion) can you tell me
how you set your gears?????
Try to carve harder until my cheeks touch
the slopes

I loved that movie. It's great to see some carving footage out there. Down here in So Cal there aren't many hardbooters so it's great to see someone else wipping it on.

Keep up the good video work and post more Please,

Ron

I just found the Vid, Great stuff. I Knew there was some Pureboarding influence from
the way that guy in the blue coat rode. Then I saw some Pureboarding jacket for a quick second.

Good Music, Good riding and some Nice camera effects.

Big Smiles here :D :D
Be sure to do more for us so we can get through the summer

When I saw this vid the first time I got the same impression like bobby buggs. There seams to be some pureboarding influence.
It's a good video but I can't help having the impression like already having seen almost the same in the "carve it up" from pureboarding. To me it's the same way of riding.
And anyway ....... some scenes I've already seen in the coolTv movies from the carving-session at lech. I think thats why there is some pureboarding jacket to see.
Do you guys have something to do with pureboarding?

Keep on going producing so good videos, we need more of this stuff!

Yes yes yes ... you're all right !!

Post by carversau » Wednesday 7 May 2003, 8:30

When I was on a board, around 15 years ago, it was in a snowboard-weekend with pureboarding (wasn't their name at this time).
After that, I was in a couple of weekends boarding with this guys.
Phil, the other rider was actualy a Snowboard-Teacher for Pureboarding. Right as well !!!
I'm impressed, that you guys see that just from this vid.

To Extremecarver ... You're right as well. We have been at the carving-session in Lech as well. Some video-clips Phil has recorded are in the carving-session video, and some of their clips are in my video. (Just the ones with Phil and myself, specialy the Convoy-Backside-Turns, which are just fantastic, n'est pas??) :P
BUT : We have nothing to do with the carve-it-up video from pureboarding. Jörg and Flawio are riding in this video !!
But we are all from the same part of switzerland (Züri Oberland, where also the Schoch-Brothers come from) and we are probably all influenced with a more or less simmular pureboarding style.

OK Fellows ... Make some vids at your one and post it here as well. We all love to look at some other styles.

Just be radical
