This is not so important. Personaly I try to use all the possibilities.kelvin o wrote:A related question for Jacques... is the LOCATION of the lateral flexibility critical for YOU in particular? The flexibility could be:
1. at the base of the binding (where the Bomber suspension system puts it)
2. in the binding assembly (seems like this is where the Catek system puts it but with more "springiness" than the Bomber system)
3. at the base of the boot (between the binding and boot, this is where the flexibility seems to be on Jacques' setup)
4. in the boot itself (soft boots or softer shelled hard boots)
Since I got a new super soft damper from Fin Doyle I could nearly suppress the play I had in the bails: the feeling is quite hard when I close the bindings. But as the Northwave sole is soft, I get enough lateral flex when riding.

Thanks Jacques, that's interesting...
so THEORETICALLY a softer boot laterally (with a relatively flexible cuff for example) mounted on a relatively stiff binding setup (step-ins) MIGHT be equivalent to a laterally stiff boot (NW's) on a flexible binding setup (your super loose Bombers) DEPENDING on the rider's personal physiology (it all depends on where the rider likes to bend his body).

Jacques,
I tried my new 168 m for the first time .
It is a excellant board .I'm still experimenting with bindings I'm using Td2s which work great but I'm going to try my TD2 stepins with suspension kit to compensate for stiffer binding. I'm also going to try purple instead of yellow rubber with suspension kit.I think experimenting is part of the process.Kelvin I'll let you know results.

.
hi,
I use CATEK OS2 OLIMPYC ,and I'm very happy
the binding is very strong, it's very easy and quickly change canting and lift ( a lot of possibility ! )
I love the possibility to move the binding from one board to onother only turn one screw! and find immidiately the rigth angle!
I use both type of olimpyc: step in and classic version ( whit bail )
no plastic parts,no parts broken, only strong alloy!
bye
