Advice for boots needed

Post by Fotisa2006 » Thursday 2 March 2017, 17:05

I already own a pair of deeluxe free 69 with bts . Do you think I should upgrade to new ones like upz atb or rc8 for extreme carving ?
Thank you in advance

Flex can be tuned. This is more a question of fit than anything else. And the UPZ shell is shaped quite differently from the symmetrical Deeluxe shell. You can only try them and see if they fit better.

Why you wish to change?
Free 69 are supposed to be better than rc8.
An upgrade could be the rc10.
All according to your feet shape.

If your Deeluxe boots don't cause you any pain, there is no reason why you shouldn't use them for EC, especially if you already have a spring system fitted.
As long as you are able to get down till your rear buttock (the upper part of your rear leg) touches your boot, everything works fine.
Of course, for some people UPZ boots may be better than Deeluxe boots. But don't expect any miracles.
So the bad news is: New boots won't automatically improve your EC capabilities.
But the good news is: Riding with the right people (instructors or friends or just people you meet on the slope) can teach you a lot in only a few hours.

i really appreciate your replies to my topic . the boots fit me well but the reason i wanted to change to rc8 is that when laying down at the the backside turns the spring system protrudes and touches the snow causing me an edge loss. the angles that i use are 48 back 58 front. maybe i should go to higher angles?

thank you id advance

Is that with a swoard? If so which one? I have your boots (albeit size 27 with no springs) and a gen 2, 168H board. This doesn't happen to me even with a lower front stance.

Ok. It's a "sin" in the EC world but I have step-in Burton bindings from a few centuries ago which enable me to stand a bit higher up. Maybe that makes the difference.

Yes - as far until you will have no boot(spring)out.

So as I understand there are not "ideal " boots for extreme carving . It's more about comfort than function
