Re: Board Choice Help Please

Hello! After reading your post and recalling my own experiences in determining what to buy, I thought I'd weigh in with my thoughts and share my opinion. Since you are 172.5 cm in height and 54kg in weight, a 168S would seemingly be the right fit. But like Tali, I do think that perhaps a 161S may be...

Re: It actually worked!!

Hi Sport! I am a very recent convert to hardbooting after 16 years on soft equipment. On my freeride boards I generally run on about 24front 10 back, which admittedly helped my transition to 55front 50back on a SWOARD a bit easier. The duckstance is all the rage here in the US, I've tried duckstance...

Re: Getting close

Hi! From what I can see you are getting very close to breaking through to full EC, you are much closer to the promised land than myself :bravo: Your heelside/backside carves, while not full EC yet, are definitely very strong and solid, with the board tilted high on edge, driving deeply into the pist...

Re: EC instructors in USA in Vermont/NJ/NY/PA areas?

A bit better today on the heelside, the wall drills seemed to have helped :D .... I have to keep reminding myself to focus on rotation at all times, and to remain disciplined and hold the hip and shoulder rotation position :rules: as I traverse heelside across the fall line until I am ready to launc...

Re: A SWOARD... reborn

Hi Benttech! I have to saw... WOW!!! 8O Very impressive!!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Seeing this makes me want to go out and find me some polyurethane varnish and see about practicing restoration on one of my older Burton freeride boards :evil2: At least there is hope, it will be possible to one day r...

Re: EC instructors in USA in Vermont/NJ/NY/PA areas?

Hello All! After riding yesterday, and looking at some very brief video clips that a friend took on a phone, I realized that I still have lingering counterrotation tendencies on my heelside  . I admit that I'm having trouble trusting the heelside edge at higher speeds  When I transition f...

Re: EC instructors in USA in Vermont/NJ/NY/PA areas?

Hello all! Thankfully at one of the resorts I go to, there is one green run that is sufficiently wide enough to where i can practice wide, sweeping turns. It's not super long, but suitable enough for my purposes. As of now, I can do toeside carves easily, but my heelsides are sketchy. Realistically,...

Re: EC instructors in USA in Vermont/NJ/NY/PA areas?

@Yomama(Peter Vu?) and Manuchill... Thank you :D The support and encouragement of everyone in the SWOARD/extremecarving community makes the quest for the perfect carve an endeavor worth pursuing. As small as the alpine community is, it is good to know that alpine newcomers like Alex and myself are n...

Re: EC instructors in USA in Vermont/NJ/NY/PA areas?

HI Alex! I'm a longtime soft-booter that just made the jump to alpine this season. I just got a SWOARD ECarver Gen4 161M myself, and much like you, I have not had any previous hardboot experience. I've only been able to run the SWOARD once so far this season. In my case, I found that I am able to do...

Hello Olive! Thank you for the link... Along with Jacques and Patrice, I have definitely researched evgen(BEN), he is a masterful rider. I have also watched this instructional video that BEN put together so many times that I can see it in my sleep  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqY2dSXY_l Of ...

Re: New alpine rider, heelside problems

Hi Julien! Thank you for taking to time to offer tips and advice! :D While my first day on an alpine setup was quite challenging, I will tell you that I enjoyed myself immensely. Since day one, I was always drawn to the simple beauty of carving, much more so than attempting wild tricks. I only wish ...

New alpine rider, heelside problems

Hello all!!! I just started today, first time EVER on an alpine setup, and I need some help/advice. After a number of runs, I seem to have the frontside/toeside edge dialed in. I am now able to carve quite confidently and with power on my frontside/toeside edge with absolutely NO skidding, on occasi...
