Hi!
I know a _lot_ of Austrian hardbootriders. Allmost all locals of the village I teached drove alpineboards. But, actually, a lot of people go back to skiing...
I'd say Kaprun, Solden, Kaunertal are perfect hardboot-area's...
Bye,
Jasper

hi all! Thanks for the help. I guess a mountainbiking-trip to Belgium is what flared it all. I never actually had any problems during my stay in Austria. I did warm up very well very morning (with my pupils), that was a good thing. I don't do jogging (hate it), but a lot of swimming. But as said, I'...

Riding Hardboot & knee problems?
Hi! I've been riding the complete last winter and it was great. I mountainbiked a lot this summer and then hell broke lose. I had terrible knee aches. Couldn't wlk properly etc. I got x-rays and the verdict was the space between the two bones was too narrow. Arthrose... My 'housedoctor' told me not ...

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Very helpfull... My fellow-snowboardinstructor always had wounded arms after a day of carving. He thought that was cool, I thought ´that must hurt as hell´... Although snowboarding is a lot safer than a lot of people think (esp. alpine snowboarding!), this...

hand position in EC turn
Hi!
I´ve been studying the EC movies and instructions carefully this summer, as some of you might have noticed...
I noticed the hands are producing quite a lot of spray and I wonder if you actually ´lean´ on you hand(s). I suppose not, but somehow I´m not sure...

what, really? That really is too bad. I was told once by a friend of mine who owns a snowboardshop that there´s not much money being made with selling snowboards. Clothing does have a huge margin though. So I guess that´s why these brands leave the market. Just selling snowboards isn´t enough. I sti...

About 10 years ago I started out with a Mistral Escape 63 with Emery bindings (the ones you have to especially drill holes for). Broke a few screws and then the inserts went. Dangerous times... 8) then it was time for a Burton E63 (I think) with Burton Performance plates and Raichle 325 (if I recall...

Well, I was in Grossarl, Austria the whole last winter and I must say that I gues 90 percent of the locals rode alpine. And they rode it HARD! The pupils were all riding softboots but I had some that switched to alpine because they were highly impressed by their teachers´ riding...  I c...

hey all! Wow, this was an extremely usefull thread. Richard, I have the same style as you have, almost identical... Funny! A racing trainer at the school I got my instructor diploma told me this is the slalom style. So the way to get around the gates ASAP. We should compete once... :D Can´t wait to ...

hey Nils! Wow, no reason at all to be unmodest! Superb frontside. Could you get up and ride on or was this just one lay-down? I know from my teaching that arm-movement is very very bad. (BTW: especially boys suffer this. girls take on snowboarding quicker, I learned to my surprise, when they aren´t ...

thanks for the comments both of you!! I can see the counterrotation I´m making in the upper pic. What should I think to avoid this? I can think of a few things (right shoulder into the snow, turning your face into the center of the curve-which works wonderfully with pupils!, or laying the other hand...
